Hobson Side Table

This side table was built to match the Hobson coffe table. The western spalted maple was salvaged from Vancouver Island before it was about to be cut into firewood. After being cut and kiln dried by Sascha, it was hauled up to Kamloops where these tables were made. The continous river of black walnut was incorportated into the piece as a representation of the Cowichan river. The legs were constructed using mortise and tenon joinery. All the miter joints have been reinforced with wooden joinery to ensure that the piece will last for generations to come. Finished with polyurethane and beeswax.
